LINES ON THE DEATH OF RACHEL ANN SANFORD
The lids she so seldom could close,
By sorrow forbidden to sleep,
Now sealed in their mortal repose,
Have strangely forgotten to weep,
The fountains can yield no supplies,
These hollows from water are free,
The tears are wiped from her eyes,
And evil they shall never see.
